If you have access to a treadmill do some five minute intervals at close to 100% of your capacity with the belt set at a 6% slope. After 5 minutes, cool down for two minutes by walking and then do it again. Do this for an hour once a week and your times and your bodies ability to supply oxygen to your muscles will both improve. Remember to warm up first.
