UVa Provost Makes Case for Single Payer Health Care

Advocates of Single Payer health care, like myself, are often portrayed as wild-eyed idealists (when in reality, there's really nothing that radical about a Single Payer system -- click here to find out more). One could hardly call Tim Garson a wild-eyed idealist. He's a highly-respected pediatric cardiologist who also happens to serve as Executive Vice President and Provost of the University of Virginia. This past Sunday, the Daily Progress ran a profile on Dr. Garson in which he makes a compelling case for a number of reforms in our health care system, including the institution of a Single Payer system.
