Cville Resident Seeks Help for Haitian Orphanage

Given the tragic news coming out of Haiti this week, I wanted to pass this along from Charlottesville resident Ida Oetgen:

Dear Friends,

My name is Ida Oetgen. My uncle Jerome Oetgen is the Counselor for Public Affairs at the US Embassy in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He and my aunt work with an orphanage of 70 children. Word finally came through to us around midnight on Wednesday night that, miraculously, all 70 of these children and their caregivers escaped Tuesday's earthquake unharmed. This is an unbelievable relief and blessing.

We are working with a non-profit organization called Partners in Progress to help the Rose-Mina de Diegue Orphanage. If you are thinking of helping the relief effort underway, please consider visiting www.piphaiti.org and select "Make a Donation" and choose "Little Flower / Rose Mina" in the first pulldown menu. Thank you -- your help will make a difference!!

Ida
