Nine years ago today, Muslim religious extremists attacked our country in order to foment Holy War. In some ways they got exactly what they wanted. Hundreds of thousands of people have been killed, maimed, orphaned or widowed in the ensuing backlash. Thankfully there are some who have refused to submit to the bloodthirst and madness and instead insist on fighting hate with love. This was my favorite sign from today's peace rally on the Downtown Mall. A better world IS possible.
