All Hail Maggie Murphy

If you missed the Stand Up Charlottesville for Darfur II concert at the Paramount last night...well, hurry thyself to a time machine and dial back to Sept. 12. In particular, Vieux Farka Toure (with surprise guest Corey Harris, a longtime favorite of mine) put on the best show I've seen in years. I only wish he and his band could have played an hour longer. And it was all for a good and worthy cause -- raising funds and raising awareness for the plight of the people of Darfur.

She's far too modest to accept it, but Maggie Murphy deserves all kinds of acclaim for putting the whole thing together.
