As an update to my last post, "Cville Hopes to Take Lead on Clean Energy Financing," I'm pleased to report that Senator Creigh Deeds today introduced SB1212, which would authorize the City of Charlottesville to implement a creative approach to the financing of energy efficiency and clean energy improvements for City homes and businesses. The end result: greener homes and businesses, increased generation of renewable energy, lower energy bills for Charlottesville residents.
To track the progress of SB1212 or to read the full text of the bill, see the SB1212 page at Richmond Sunlight. The bill has been referred to the Senate Local Government Committee for consideration and I will likely be heading to Richmond soon to testify on its behalf.
Many thanks to Sen. Deeds for his support.
